Moving can be one of the most stressful experiences anyone can go through, with so many things which can go wrong with a big move, it’s no surprise. While some of our customers are used to being on the move, for some of our customers, uprooting their lives isn’t easy. Following the tips outlined below as a checklist should make it much easier for you to move from A to B
Plan and Prep!
Not everyone has an itinerary of everything that they own, likewise many people will struggle to think off the top of their heads just how much ‘stuff’ they have. While we won’t need you to count up each possession, it’s beneficial for us if before you make a call to the Moving Professionals that you have an accurate view of just how much stuff there is to be moved!
For an accurate quote, it is easy if you start off by telling us how many pieces of furniture you would like to be moved. After the furniture has been accounted for, it will be time to tell us how many boxes need moving too!
Don’t forget to tell us about your contents of the garden shed too!
Anyone who has experienced plenty of moves know that planning and preparation are essential components to everything going according to plan.
Do You Need Help Packing?
When it comes to packing up your every day items, most of our customers are happy to deal with the packing themselves. However, if you have any items which are a little tricky to pack yourselves, we’re more than happy to lend a hand. Just let us know which items will need to be packaged when we arrive before your big move!
Possessions which need extra special care can include large, or irregularly shaped items, or items which generally just need extra attention and care.
We know that customers have sentimental value in all different types of possessions, just let us know which items you need us to take special care with – not that we won’t be extra careful with each and every move that we load!
By letting us know which fragile or tricky to pack items we’ll need to take care of with our packing service, this will ensure that we arrive fully prepared and get right to action.

While you may be confident with the majority of your packing, never be afraid to tell us that you need a little help with some of your bigger and trickier items!

Labeling is Key!
Whether you choose to invest in a labeling gun or stick with a trusty permanent marker for your boxes, any time spent labeling your boxes will definitely pay off in the future.
You can let us know where each of the boxes needs to go by adequately labeling them rather than leaving us needing direction when the big moving day comes. So, along with labeling the boxes with the contents, it can be massively beneficial if you let us know where the boxes need to go as well.
Take the Strain Out of the Lifting
While it may be tempting to go to Uhaul grab some boxes
and pack your items into as few boxes as possible, remember, it will make the moving process much faster if you pack your heavier items into smaller boxes. Packing hundreds of books into the same box is always going to be difficult to move from A to B, so, to keep the time and cost of the move down only place lighter items such as bedding and clothing into larger boxes. If you’re planning on helping us out with the lifting, make sure that you know how to lift heavy items properly. Never lift with your back. Each time you lift a heavy box or piece of furniture make sure you squat first and use the power in your legs instead of your back muscles to lift the object.
